The Brand 

Our contribution to the future of clothing lies in a tight curation of thoughtful pieces for the modern woman's wardrobe. 

PANTALON is an independent womenswear brand founded by Lara Burnell, based between Sydney and Paris. The name - pantalon is the word for trousers in Tagalog which honours her mother's Filipino heritage and reflects an essential attitude to clothing. 

The Designer

I’m searching for a good pair of pants; I never found a pair of pants that I just love. I like comfortable pants and clothes I can work in, that I feel comfortable in. I don’t really like to get dressed up. I like to wear the same thing every day and feel comfortable. It’s a fit, it’s a certain kind of feeling, and if they’re not right, which they never are, it’s a sadness. You know, it interrupts the flow of happiness. I’m working on it, believe me.  - David Lynch

This quote has guided my vision for PANTALON from the beginning, and grounds my perception of how clothing should be approached as a designer. I return to it often, to remind myself of the kind of person I’m creating for; someone seeking ease, clarity and a quiet sense of completeness in what they wear. 

Remaining independent has been essential from the beginning allowing time for research and development on my own terms and for the brand to evolve naturally with me.
